INCI, the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, used on product labels.
The International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, used on product labels. In cosmetology and trichology, the meaning of this term always depends on the context: the location of the problem, symptoms, duration of the issue, products used, and individual tolerance.
Understanding the term helps to better comprehend cosmetic descriptions, specialist recommendations, and mechanisms occurring in the skin or hair. However, it does not mean that identifying a single element is sufficient for choosing a therapy.
It is not advisable to judge a product, ingredient, or procedure solely based on the popularity of a term. Formulation, concentration, method of use, contraindications, and skin condition are important. Introduce changes one by one and observe the reaction.
If the problem is severe, recurring, causes pain, intense itching, inflammation, sudden hair loss, or a significant change in skin appearance, consult a dermatologist. A cosmetologist or trichologist can support your care and refer you to the appropriate specialist.
